Coming soon: 22 Jump Street 2014

22 Jump Street movie posterJonah Hill and Channing Tatum have made a very good team in 21 Jump Street and in a few weeks (June 13) they will return on the big screens with the sequel of this movie, 22 Jump Street. The first part was a great success and, unlike other high grossing films, it was one that I liked too. I am very hard to please when it comes to comedy movies, there are few ones that really make me laugh and even fewer the ones that I retain long after viewing, and this is one of them.

From the trailers I’ve watched, 22 Jump Street seems to be at least as good as 21, but I would not want to get too excited before, because I’ve seen many films whose trailers promise the moon and eventually turn out to be some crap. I hope Ice Cube does not have a very important role because it would ruin the whole movie. Hill and Tatum are very pleasant, but Ice Cube is exactly the opposite and he’s so insufferable.

Official Synopsis: After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college and take down a secret drug ring. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership.  Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship.  If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.
