Enemy 2013 – explained

In the category of the strangest films I’ve ever seen I can put Enemy 2013 in one of the top places. It is undoubtedly one of the few movies that I watched and didn’t understand a thing, so I needed to search for explanations on the internet and I’ve founded one video to clarify almost all I needed and I’ll post it below. With the explanations of the guy, I can say that, yes, the movie is very good and full of hidden messages, subliminal, translated by some details so fine that I can’t brag myself that I saw them while watched the movie for the first time.EnemyEven without the explanation from below, Enemy has captivated me from the beginning and I was again impressed by the incredible talent that Jake Gyllenhaal has. I think I’m not wrong if I say that he is one of the top 5 actors of his generation. This time, Jake plays two characters in the same film: On one side he’s a gloomy history professor (Adam Bell) without a highly developed social life and stuck into a routine with his girlfriend, Mary (Mélanie Laurent). On the other hand, we have a detached Jake (Anthony Claire), groomed, confident and practicing the profession of actor (go figure!). Also, Anthony is married to Helen (Sarah Gadon), six months pregnant.

One day, Adam is thinking to go out a bit from the routine and go rent a movie. In the movie, he discovers Anthony and is shocked by striking physical resemblance to him. Moreover, he becomes obsessed to meet Anthony and starts searching the Internet for information about him and get to meet him face to face, realizing that resembles to the smallest detail. This meeting, however, seems to be the biggest mistake of his life because from that moment his life goes on a strange and dangerous spiral.
